01. About
The short version
Hi, I’m Rocky — a web developer based in Minneapolis – Saint Paul, Minnesota, with 5+ years of experience building websites and web apps for clients across marketing, healthcare, and e-commerce. I got my start through App Academy‘s rigorous 1,800-hour software development program, and I’ve been building professionally ever since.
Today I work full-time as a web developer while also taking on independent contract projects — WordPress builds, custom themes, e-commerce sites, and everything in between. I care about writing clean, maintainable code and building sites that are fast, accessible, and easy for clients to actually manage themselves.
Outside of code, I’m usually planning my next trip, working through a new hiking trail, or testing out a recipe in the kitchen. I write about the travel side of that at Rocky’s Guide — most of what I’ve learned about balancing a laptop and a passport happened the hard way.
Technologies I work with:

Dec 2020 — Jun 2021

03. Projects
Things I’ve built
Rocky's Guide ↗
A travel blog built to help solo travelers skip the rookie mistakes I made along the way. Built the full site on WordPress from the ground up, with an SEO strategy focused on driving organic search traffic to destination and planning guides.
Pain and Injury ↗
A medical network site for a group specializing in car accident and work-related injury treatment. Integrated the Google Maps API for location-based filtering across clinic locations, and customized an existing theme to match the client's brand and workflow.
Endura Roast ↗
A performance-coffee e-commerce brand built for athletes and daily grinders — full storefront, product catalog, and checkout flow, plus a blog and a give-back program donating a share of profits to youth sports.
Livewell Membership ↗
A membership platform for a network of luxury vacation homes reserved exclusively for members. Maintained and extended their CRM setup and built out new workflows that helped grow yearly sales.
Panama City Symphony ↗
A nonprofit symphony based in Panama City, Florida, teaching music and performing throughout the year. Built and maintain their WordPress site, with membership and CRM tooling running behind the scenes.
Gulf Coast Facial Plastics ↗
A facial plastic surgery and aesthetics practice with a team of specialty medical providers. Revamped their WordPress site and worked on SEO, helping them climb Google rankings.
04. Templates
WordPress themes I can build for you
As an independent contractor, I also build fully custom WordPress themes end to end. Here are two live examples — real, working sites you can click through.
Beacon Digital ↗
A dark, modern theme built for a product design & growth consultancy — custom post types, cursor-glow and card-tilt interactions, and a full page set from pricing to case studies.
Meridian Studio ↗
A warm, editorial theme built for a creative studio portfolio — a filterable project grid, case-study detail pages, and a built-in team and blog section.
